Infant and Toddler Program - Engaging and Encouraging From the Beginning
This is the time when children use their bodies, senses, and emerging problem-solving skills to learn about and make sense of their world in the ways most meaningful and effective for them.
Dr. Montessori was one of the first educators to recognize that the first few years of a child’s life are critical to the development of personality and intellect. Toddlers actively seek out information, they learn quickly and easily, and are especially interested in demonstrating independence. We allow them the freedom to learn as much as they can, as quickly as possible.
I give our infants and toddlers responsive, individualized attention to help build skills in:
Preschoolers: Teaching the Fundamentals in a Whole New Way
As children get older, they tend to see things that adults find ordinary as very interesting and special. Practical life exercises like sorting, pouring, or washing dishes absorb them completely.
Program is in session September through June. It is designed as a 2 year program, with all the preparatory activities of the first two years culminating in a successful kindergarten year. We accept children into the program between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5 years, and strongly recommend they remain for a full two year period.
The full two year cycle offers the children the opportunity for maximum growth - creatively, intellectually, and socially - by allowing them to explore and work at their own pace without fear of failure. We recognize this as the beginning of control and coordination of mind and body. That’s why MSFS learning revolves around tangible experiences. Children use concrete materials to learn math; movable alphabets to explore language; and cubes, cylinders and other objects to categorize, find spatial relationships, and more. Our broad-based Primary Program includes:

DROP-IN Program
Putting flexibility with peace of mind into your life, your children receive developmental opportunities throughout the day from story time to arts and crafts. MSFS provides licensed, clean and safe child care center, with highly qualified staff, for the families of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Our center is licensed to accept children between the ages of 3 months and 9 years.
Please keep in mind, that even though it is called “DROP IN” it is best to call in advance to set up the arrangements and check availability. We understand life is filled with unexpected things and are happy to accept children last minute if we have space, but please note we have a certain amount of children that can be in the center each day. If possible, 24-48 hours notice is requested for Drop-In services. Hours of Operation is 7am – 5pm Monday – Friday.
